Fleur van Bladeren is the teamleader of cancer prevention at the Dutch Cancer Society, where she is responsible for the cancer prevention strategy in which results are achieved through campaigning, lobbying and research. Main priorities in the Dutch Cancer Societies cancer prevention strategy are tobacco control and UV protection.
Fleur has been active as a tobacco control advocate in the Netherlands since 2002 and has since then also been active in the international tobacco control community. Since 2015 she has been member of the steering group of the Dutch smoke free Alliance, in which over 60 organisations are working together to achieve a smoke free generation. Since 2015 she is member of the Tobacco Control Advisory group of Cancer Research UK.
